<p>Unlike most states, Idaho has a 10 year limit for residents to claim property which has been turned over to the state. This is not true for any other state I am aware of. In fact, most states have an indefinite period of time for owners to come make their claim. Even deceased persons relatives may claim money if any is due.</p>
<p>We can only hope this is not a trend which catches on with other states.</p>
<p>I also found it interesting the states FAQ listed this information as the very last question. Read the <a href="http://http://tax.idaho.gov/ucpc_FAQs_answers.htm#UCPC12" title="idaho unclaimed money">Idaho Treasury FAQ</a> which addresses this issue.</p>
